Race for Every Child 2024 is On!
Registration is open for this year’s Race for Every Child 5K Run/Walk! The annual event takes place Saturday, October 19 at Freedom Plaza in Washington, D.C., and virtually.
Children’s National Hospital staff, patients, families, corporate partners and community members come together to walk or run the 5K and Kids Dash. The funds they raise elevate pediatric care for every child.
Meet a few team captains who lead the way for kids:
Emma
Emma created her team to honor the care team members who support and celebrate her identity beyond her chronic condition.
“My care team treats me like a person, not a patient,” she says. “I can still be me.”
Ken
Ken Collins, vice president of pre-construction at L.F. Jennings, Inc., leads the company’s team. He believes in giving back to organizations who support their employees and families.
“In addition to raising funds for the hospital, the Race provides an opportunity for team building and a shared sense of purpose and pride,” he says.
Ivon
Ivon, a program coordinator in the Division of Colorectal & Pelvic Reconstruction at Children’s National, helps organize Team Incredibowels each year. It offers her and her coworkers a way to honor patient families beyond their care.
“Race Day has such wonderful energy!” she says. “We are all there in support of providing the best care to all children.”
Sign up today to join these leaders at the Race. Earn your team captain T-shirt when you create your team by July 27!
