Sunoco Keeps Kids Moving!
When you visit a gas station, it’s usually for fuel: fuel for a car or fuel for your body. But this spring, there’s an added incentive to stop by a Sunoco. From April 6 to May 3, regional Sunoco stations are collecting money to fuel Children’s National and the families who depend on the care they receive there.
“Sunoco LP is committed to improving the communities where we live and work,” said Cynthia Archer, executive vice president and chief marketing officer for Sunoco LP. “We are proud of our customers and our store teams who, time after time, show their generous spirit by helping our local children’s hospitals.”
Since 1997, Sunoco has helped raise more than $2.6 million for Children's Miracle Network (CMN) Hospitals nationwide. Last year, the 52 Sunoco locations across Maryland, Virginia, Washington, and parts of Pennsylvania and West Virginia raised nearly $12,000 for life-saving medical care, research, education, and outreach programs at Children's National.
Cashiers at stores across the region sell Miracle Balloons for a dollar and proudly display them on walls, checkout counters, and windows. The national and local Sunoco executives are so committed to corporate citizenship and to CMN that they incentivize their employees to sell the most balloons by offering a slew of prizes:
- A $100 gift card for the store that sells the most balloons the first and last week of the campaign.
- A $100 gift card for the top selling store in each division.
- One trip for two for the top area manager to the 2017 CMN Hospitals Conference in Orlando in March 2017.
- One trip for two for a store manager to the Orlando conference.
The Sunoco Foundation supports the belief that Sunoco's success is determined not only by investing in the business, but also by investing in communities. Their support of Children’s National gives kids in the community the fuel they need to live happy, healthy lives. Fuel up at your local Sunoco station today, and throughout the campaign. Each time, you’ll be helping to fuel children’s health in the process.
