Young Professionals "Dance After Dark" to Support Kids
After being snowed out the previous weekend, Dancing After Dark was held at the Mellon Auditorium on Jan. 29, bringing together young professionals and community leaders to raise funds while having fun to support the mission of Children's National. The event, which raised $166,457, had a focus on community, as Dr. Mark Weissman and Dr. Marcee White of the Diana L. and Stephen A. Goldberg Center for Pediatric Community Health made remarks about the work of Children's National in underserved neighborhoods in Washington, DC. The Goldberg Center has seven clinics and mobile vans that provide education and care to children wherever they need it.
The Junior Council is composed of young professionals, emerging community leaders, and children’s health advocates who are dedicated to supporting Children’s National Health System through fundraising events and volunteering activities. United by a common mission and passion, the Junior Council raises funds to help the doctors and nurses provide the most sophisticated, personalized, and compassionate care possible to every patient who walks through the door, whether they have insurance or not. Donations through events like Dancing After Dark help expand services, develop innovative therapies, and seek cures for childhood disease. Learn more about the Junior Council.
