Dairy Queen's Sweet Treats for Children's National
Few things are sweeter than a refreshing, cold ice cream cone during the summer. But what can make it even sweeter? Knowing that while you’re enjoying your tasty treat, you’re also giving back to your local children’s hospital.
Dairy Queen has been a partner of Children's Miracle Network Hospitals since 1984, raising more than $115 million for children’s hospitals around the country. Most of the funds raised each year come from Miracle Treat Day, a one-day event where a portion of proceeds from every Blizzard Treat sold benefits a children’s hospital. This year, the day-long fundraiser is happening on July 28. For more information about Miracle Treat Day visit http://miracletreatday.com, or ask your local Dairy Queen if they’re participating.
But Dairy Queen doesn’t just fundraise once; they hold campaigns throughout the year. Stop by in October, and you’ll see paper pumpkin icons decorating the storefront for each donation that was received; or in February, you’ll see heart icons decorating the walls. And today through July 31, cashiers prompt customers for a donation of $1 to $5 and decorate the walls with summer-themed icons for each donation received. And on March 15, customers gets to enjoy a vanilla cone on Free Cone Day on Dairy Queen’s dime – and have a chance to make a donation to Children’s National.
