Safeway Foundation Provides $50,000 for Pediatric Cancer Research

Earlier this month, the Safeway Foundation presented Children’s National Health System with a $50,000 grant to advance innovative treatments to fight cancer using the patient’s own immune system. since 2012, Safeway has donated more than $250,000 to Children's National.
 
“Children's National is one of the only institutions in the area that provides these cutting-edge immunotherapy treatments for cancer,” said pediatric oncologist Dr. Hema Dave, who is leading the research funded by Safeway Foundation. “We’re grateful that the Safeway Foundation is helping us improve these treatments so more kids can overcome cancer.”
 
In the past five years, Safeway Foundation has donated more than $250,000 to Children’s National. Safeway Foundation is a part of the national Albertsons Companies Foundation. Since its inception in 2001, Albertsons Companies Foundation and Albertsons Companies have invested $2 billion to improve the quality of life of their customers and the communities they serve.
