Give Our Patients and Health Care Heroes A Reason to Believe
We all wish for hope and healing during the holidays. Children and families who spend their holidays in the hospital deserve a Reason to Believe — in first steps, in giggles, high fives and hugs. To believe in growing up stronger.
Each year, hundreds of kids spend their holidays at Children’s National Hospital while they courageously battle disease, illness or injury. Demier spent last Christmas with us after a stem cell transplant to treat his sickle cell disease.
A child born with sickle cell disease faces painful medical complications, hospitalizations and a shortened life expectancy. The transplant cured Demier’s sickle cell disease. He is now a healthy 7-year-old who will celebrate the holidays at home with his family.
This year, more than ever, we need to give our patients and health care heroes a Reason to Believe.
For 150 years, Children’s National has provided exceptional, compassionate pediatric care and pioneered research leading to new treatments and cures. Your generosity helps us connect care, community and discovery to help every child grow up stronger.
