This holiday season, patients and families will see you care – at the speed of light! Every donation lights up our beloved mascot, Dr. Bear, to give kids a reason to believe.
With each gift, we help kids find joy, including through art, music and pet therapies. We elevate child-centered care that allows kids to be kids in the hospital. And we extend our reach to ensure every child can access the care they need.

Adopting a Dr. Bear this holiday season helps bring comfort to patients. Dr. Bear installations at Children’s National light up every time someone makes a donation and during special light shows. Patients can watch from their window or on the TV in their rooms.
We will recognize Adopt a Dr. Bear donors by including their name on the Light Up Dr. Bear website and with an adoption certificate and content to share on social.
2. Sponsor BearTime Stories: $25,000
Bring smiles and sweet dreams to kids with BearTime Stories. Special hospital visitors will read holiday stories to our patients, and we will share for the community to enjoy.
We will celebrate BearTime Stories sponsors in advertising and include their names on the Light Up Dr. Bear website.
3. Feature signage in your store or restaurant
Display the campaign and invite your customers to participate. After donating through the QR code, they will see a light-up Dr. Bear through augmented reality (AR) in your store!
We will provide content you can share on social to amplify the support.
