Children’s Ball 2025 Renews Hope for Families

Nearly 800 guests attended the Children’s Ball on April 26 at The Anthem in Washington, D.C., to ensure a bright path forward for kids. Their support raised more than $3.2  million for the Fund for Every Child, which enables us to meet our patients’ most urgent needs.

 

Max, age 16, opened the gala with a special performance. Music therapy elevated his care at Children’s National for cerebral palsy to help him heal and find joy.

 

“I knew right away that I was in the best place at Children’s National,” Max says. “I’m beyond grateful for the kindness of every person on my care team.”

 

Co-chairs Jon and Allison Kling and Mara Glaser McCahan and Daniel McCahan shared how expert care gave their families hope and answers when they needed them most. And Raci, age 7, and her family celebrated her recovery from a life-threatening car accident.

 

“Raci embraces her scars and is a brilliant, mature kid for her age,” says Tia, Raci’s mom. “She even moved up from kindergarten to first grade this year. We’re so thankful Children’s National gave us a new beginning.”

 

Recognizing the generosity that makes stories like Max’s and Raci’s possible, Thomas Lloyd and the Gerard B. Lambert Foundation received the annual Joseph E. Robert, Jr. Prize in Philanthropy for their transformational support. Lloyd, president of the Lambert Foundation, continues the work of his grandmother, Bunny Mellon, to help all children through philanthropy. “The single greatest gift my grandmother ever gave me was this opportunity to share her legacy with others and to be able to help other people,” Lloyd says. “She would be unbelievably proud. It means the world to us at the Lambert Foundation to invest in all children’s futures.”
