Your Generosity Gives Kids a Reason to Believe

CNH patient Daniel, age 8, smiles at the camera while seated in a wheelchair and wearing winter-themed flannels.

Throughout Children's National Hospital, our patients and families discover twinkling lights, festive music, seasonal crafts and activities and special gifts and surprises that make the holidays feel a little bit brighter. As a nonprofit hospital, we rely on support from our community to help give kids hope, healing and the holiday joy they deserve.

Your generosity helps kids like:

Daniel
While Daniel received expert treatment for a spinal condition, his nurses lifted his spirits every day. “Daniel likes to chat, so he would ask them a lot of questions,” his mom, Karen, says. “They always answered his questions with kindness, laughed with him and provided plenty of toys to distract him from procedures.”

Eloise
Eloise is a social butterfly who loves to listen, watch everyone around her and even sneak a glance at herself smiling in the mirror. Her favorite nurses followed her between the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Intensive Care Unit and Heart and Kidney Unit. “They are so excited when they see how much she’s grown,” her mom, Haley, says.

Raya
During a prenatal scan, Mia learned her future “cuddle bug,” Raya, would have a genetic condition in which almost no wall separated her heart chambers. “As a mother with a nursing background, I had high expectations for Raya's care,” Mia says. “Her nurses always addressed my concerns with compassion and made me feel confident in her treatment.”
