RE/MAX Gateway Swings Aces for Children's Health

RE/MAX Gateway representatives donate proceeds from their charity golf tournament benefiting Children's National.

In our Corporate Partner Spotlight, we interview corporate leaders about what inspires them to serve as advocates and ambassadors for children's health. This month, we spoke with Scott MacDonald, broker and owner of RE/MAX Gateway.

RE/MAX has raised vital funds for Children's National families for more than two decades through their golf tournament. And through the Miracle Home program, RE/MAX agents can donate a portion of their commissions from closed transactions, turning everyday real estate success into meaningful support for children and families.

How has RE/MAX Gateway's support for Children's National grown and evolved?

What started as a commitment to participate and contribute has become a deeply rooted part of our company culture. In addition to the Miracle Home program, our annual charity golf tournament has become one of our biggest and most impactful events. Each year, we are humbled by how many people step up to give generously, sponsor, donate, volunteer and participate.

Most recently, we raised $35,000 at our 23rd Annual Charity Golf Tournament for Children's National. That is something we are incredibly proud of because that number represents more care, resources and hope for children and families who need them most.

This year, Children's National celebrates 155 years of expert care for kids. How do partnerships like ours raise the standard of care for children today and future generations?

Partnerships like ours ensure that Children's National can provide world-class care, invest in innovation and support families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives. Hospitals need more than medical talent and technology. They also need a community standing behind them.

When businesses, organizations and individuals come together to support the hospital, it helps expand what is possible. It improves outcomes for children today, while also helping shape the future of pediatric care. To be part of a 155-year legacy of care is incredibly meaningful. It reminds us that the work we do now can impact children and families for generations to come.

What is the most rewarding part of working with Children's National?

We see our efforts making a real difference for families, including ours at RE/MAX Gateway. Over the years, several of our agents have had children or loved ones receive care at Children's National, and some have even been patients. That makes this partnership personal to us.

Real estate can be a demanding business, and it is easy to get caught up in the day-to-day pace of transactions, contracts, meetings and market conditions. But when we come together for Children's National, it puts everything into perspective. We are supporting a hospital that has directly impacted people we know and care about.

Our agents are generous, our staff works hard behind the scenes, and our sponsors and partners show up year after year. Seeing that collective heart in action is powerful. It reminds me that we are not just building a company. We are fostering a culture of service, compassion and community.
