Corporate Partner Spotlight: Yele Aluko
In our monthly Corporate Partner Spotlight, we speak with corporate leaders about what inspires them to serve as advocates and ambassadors for children’s health.
This month, we spoke with Yele Aluko, MD, MBA of Ernst & Young (EY). Dr. Aluko practiced interventional and structural heart cardiology for 25 years prior to becoming Chief Medical Officer at EY Americas. He advises health industry leaders on strategic and operational opportunities. He also directs the EY Center for Health Equity, which focuses on building cross sector industry solutions geared towards eliminating health disparities.
Dr. Aluko proudly serves on the Children’s National Hospital Foundation’s Corporate Advisory Council.
Dr. Aluko, why do you support Children’s National as a member of the Corporate Advisory Council?
I am deeply aligned with the mission, vision and values of Children’s National Hospital. This includes its work to improve health outcomes for children regionally, nationally and internationally. As an adult cardiologist, I am astutely aware of the importance and value of promoting health and wellness in our children and adolescents. Investing in the health of the future generation makes for a healthier and more resilient human society. I am proud and privileged to be part of that legacy.
Why is it important to you that EY supports diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) and health equity initiatives at Children’s National?
At EY, our credo is building a better working world. We seek to serve society across all industries and sectors in which we work — both here in the United States and globally. I have been, and continue to be, a vocal and visible advocate for health disparity elimination throughout my career. EY is committed to DEI within our business, in initiatives we support and in partnerships that we engage in. Organizations like Children’s National that embrace DEI and cultural competency are uniquely positioned to deliver health equity over time.
What’s the most rewarding part of working with Children’s National?
It’s exciting, rewarding and impactful to work with serious-minded corporate leaders around a common purpose. Together, we bring our intellect — and the reach of our networks — to solve problems alongside leadership at Children’s National.
Corporate partners like Dr. Aluko and EY are key to helping us ensure every child can grow up stronger. If you or your company are interested in supporting Children’s National, please contact Foundation Vice President Julie Butler at [email protected].
